Recipe for Success: Meet Matt McGuire

Community | Uncategorized

Most people know Matt as our technical troubleshooter. He oversees all of Kiosk & Display’s programming, and creates connections between client systems that seamlessly feed data to screens. If your displays automatically show current rates, employee birthdays, service anniversaries, or performance dashboards, that is all thanks to Matt.

Over the past few years Matt has become known to colleagues, neighbors, and clients as an expert bread maker. But not just ordinary bread…his specialty is focaccia, and he makes it in a cast iron pan. Matt started breadmaking as a hobby during the pandemic and has been baking ever since. Although each loaf takes about 24 hours from start to finish, no kneading is required, only stretching and folding of the dough before it sets in the refrigerator to rise. Matt estimates he’s made over 100 loaves so far, including a few that have been gifted to lucky Kiosk & Display clients during on-site visits.

As an Eagle Scout and troop mentor, Matt uses the science of breadmaking to teach scouts a new skill. While focaccia is his favorite (and most requested – scouts call it “Mr. McGuire’s Fancy Bread”), Matt says it’s easy to experiment with different flavors, adding the bread tastes best with
fewer ingredients.

Photos of Matt’s custom creations are below. If we close our eyes, we almost smell the aroma of freshly baked bread!
